![]() ![]() PCSX has more controller configurability as it has an input plugin system whereas ePSXe is restricted to its built in controller config. ![]() However, most of us have computers more than fast enough for both emulators.) PCSX is generally a more compatible emulator than ePSXe. There is some kind of definite error happening at that exact moment that forces the program to close itself, but with the emulators providing no obvious error reports, I am at a loss. There is already a howto for doing PSX emulation with ePSXe posted here (), however my howto may be more useful to you for the following reasons: Further testing, if I attempt to start the game in full screen, it changes my monitor's resolution as the game closes, and does not change it back to the original. Testing it over and over, I have noticed a small screen that seems to pop up for a fraction of a second as if to display the game, but that is blank white and closes itself immediately. ![]() I attempt to boot the image, the game closes. Even worse is the fact that it happens on every PSX emulator I have tried, exactly the same. As I said, I do not typically use forums for support because I tend to be able to figure these things out on my own, but I've not found any error reports and have found no evidence of this particular issue happening to anyone else, ever. I understand the basics of emulation, I've dealt with these things before. The original bios I tried was one I've had personally for several years, but I did also test the one that same friend is using on his. The ISOs were ripped correctly, they worked perfectly for me on many occasions and I've even gone so far as to have a friend test them, and tried using his. What information about my plugin configuration do you desire? It's difficult to specify when I've tried so many different plugins and configurations. I'm using a Windows 7 PC with a Sapphire 6850 and a 955BE. The reason I said "the process ends" was to clear any doubt that I was seeing the process itself within the task manager terminate. The bios file stays selected between boots, as well as all other settings made. I've used all of the sound plugins you've mentioned, as well as disabling the sound, with the same results. Any CDR drivers I use can't be configured because my busted disc drive doesn't exist as far as my computer is concerned, but I'd imagine it would give me some error if that were the cause of the problem. I configured each gpu plugin for windowed mode, and used the default plugins that came with the emulator as well as the ones at the link I provided. If you try to use PAL games with a NTSC BIOS (or vice-versa), it will crash. You said you tried a few BIOSes, so I'll take a wild guess that you didn't dump the BIOS from your own console, so it might not be the right one for your games. Might be hard to do if you have no disc drive (but how did you get the games on your PC in the first place then ?)Īnd finally, localization. There's a free utility called ISOproducer that works well to rip most games (except with games that use CDDA tracks like Rayman). There's another thing to check : are you sure your ISOs are correctly ripped ? Were you ever able to use them on another PC ? Maybe they're not correctly ripped. It's hard to help you, because you're not giving much information (your hardware specs, your operating system, the way you configured the plugins. Maybe it runs normally but just isn't displayed (that might happen if you use a crappy GPU such as the Intel HD). ![]() Maybe it does not, and you'll end up with a lot of ePSXe.exe processes running after trying a few times. do you still have the same plugins selected as the ones you chose the previous time ?Īlso check the Windows task manager to make sure that the process really stops when you launch an ISO. do you still have a BIOS file selected in the BIOS section ? If you close the emulator then restart it : If the program does not have the rights to write the config file, your config settings won't be saved (and you'll have no BIOS the next time you start the emulator). But it can make a big difference for configuration. Click to expand.Sure it won't change anything about the way the games load. ![]()
